Nestled inside Victoria’s sprawling Riverside Park, the Riverside Baseball Park, better known as Riverside Stadium, has stood as a local treasure for nearly eight decades. Built in 1947, the stadium has hosted generations of players and fans, carrying with it the rich history of baseball in South Texas.

Originally home to the Victoria Rosebuds of the Texas League in the late 1950s and early 1960s, the ballpark has seen its share of memorable moments. The cheers that once rang out for minor league legends now echo for college athletes and community teams that call the field home.

Today, Riverside Stadium serves as the home field for the Texas A&M–Victoria Jaguars baseball team, as well as local high school and regional tournament games. With a seating capacity of about 1,500, the park offers an up-close, family-friendly experience that fans say feels like “real baseball.”

Located at 405 Memorial Drive, the ballpark sits along the Guadalupe River, surrounded by oak trees and the park’s scenic walking trails. Its setting adds to its small-town charm, a place where you can enjoy a ballgame and a picnic all in one evening.

Visitors often remark on the park’s nostalgic atmosphere. There are no flashing screens or booming sound systems here, just the crack of the bat, the smell of popcorn, and the cheers of a local crowd. The stadium’s simplicity is part of what keeps people coming back.

Riverside Baseball Park is more than a sports venue, it’s a gathering spot where generations have shared summer nights, community pride, and a love for the game. In a city known for its hospitality and local tradition, the stadium continues to be one of Victoria’s most cherished landmarks.
