Sometimes the simplest moments carry the deepest reminders of God’s faithfulness.
This week, as preparations continued for the church’s upcoming Vacation Bible School, The Promise, a package arrived containing colorful rainbow decorations for the event. While unpacking the decorations, Pastor Darla Lawrence found herself reflecting on a recent conversation about what it means to finally stand on the other side of God’s promises.
Holding the rainbow decoration in her hands became more than another task on the ministry checklist. Instead, it became a powerful reminder of God’s unwavering faithfulness.
“The rainbow wasn’t just a decoration for our children’s ministry,” Lawrence shared. “It became a personal sign from God proving that He is entirely faithful to what He speaks.”
That simple symbol prompted her to pause and reflect on her own journey of faith. Looking back, she realized that many of the prayers she once cried over have now become the everyday blessings she lives in.
“What was once a desperate prayer is now my day-to-day reality,” she said. “The things I used to lie awake at night worrying over, weeping over, and bringing before the Lord are the very things I am living out today.”
Lawrence described the experience as both humbling and deeply encouraging. The stability and blessings she enjoys today were once nothing more than heartfelt prayers, tear-stained nights, and words written in faith while trusting God to fulfill His promises.
“The Lord didn’t just bring me through a trial,” she explained. “He brought me all the way to the other side of fulfillment.”
Her testimony serves as an encouragement for anyone walking through difficult seasons. She reminds readers that while storms can make it difficult to recognize God’s work, they do not cancel His promises.
“If you are standing in a storm today waiting for it to pass, don’t lose heart,” Lawrence said. “Your rainbow is coming, and soon you will stand on the other side of your promise.”
She also encourages believers to remember gratitude after the storm has passed.
“We often spend so much time crying out to God in the middle of our storms that we forget to stop, look up, and say, ‘Thank you, Lord,’ when the storm finally passes by.”
For those who find themselves in a season of waiting, Lawrence offers a message of hope rooted in personal experience.
“I had to learn to stop and wait on His answer. If you are in the waiting room today, keep holding on. The One who promised is faithful.”
She concludes with a reminder that God’s faithfulness extends to everyone who places their trust in Him.
“If you need some proof,” Lawrence said, “just take a look at my life. The same God who has provided every step of the way for me will do it for you.”
