Victoria’s soccer community has another reason to celebrate after Texas A&M University–Victoria forward Gracie Spradley delivered a record-setting performance that placed her name in the Jaguars’ history books.
Spradley scored four goals in the Jaguars’ 5–1 victory over the University of the Southwest on October 3, producing one of the most impressive individual performances of the season. Her goals helped Texas A&M University–Victoria secure an important Red River Athletic Conference victory and gave the Jaguars valuable momentum as conference play continues.
The performance was especially significant because Spradley’s four-goal effort rewrote the program’s record book. Her offensive production turned an important conference match into a memorable afternoon for the Jaguars and highlighted the attacking talent that has become an important part of the team.
Her success also earned recognition across the conference. The Red River Athletic Conference named Spradley Offensive Player of the Week, honoring her recent performances and contribution to the Jaguars’ results.
A Team With Momentum
The victory came at an important moment in the season, with the Jaguars entering a demanding stretch of conference matches. Every result becomes increasingly important as teams compete for position and opportunities later in the season.
Although Spradley received the headlines, the 5–1 victory was also a team accomplishment. Her goals depended on teammates creating opportunities, defending effectively and maintaining the organization needed to control the match.
The Jaguars are now focused on carrying that momentum into the rest of October. With conference competition heating up, the team will look to turn individual performances like Spradley’s into continued success on the field.
For Victoria sports fans, the Jaguars are providing another exciting reason to follow local college athletics. Spradley has already secured her place in program history with four goals in one afternoon. Now, she and her teammates will look to build on that achievement as the conference season moves forward.
Four goals. One new record. And an October season that is just getting started.
