City of Victoria Town Talk podcast earns national award

The City of Victoria Communications & Public Affairs has earned an Award of Excellence from the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) for Town Talk, the City’s podcast that uses candid conversations with local leaders to provide informative and engaging updates on current events and projects.
The City’s entry highlighted the Communications team’s use of the podcast to share information about emergency preparedness and critical services, including a special episode about the 2025 boil-water notices and improvements to the City’s water system.
“Town Talk was created as a response to residents’ desire and expectation for frank, honest and transparent communication, something that is increasingly valued in today’s media-saturated world,” said Communications Director Ashley Strevel. “We are honored that Town Talk has now been recognized at the national level, and we hope that this recognition will encourage even more residents to tune in for information and updates about topics that affect them.”
This is the first national award for Town Talk, which has won multiple state awards in the two years since it launched in its current format.
Town Talk previously earned an Award of Excellence in 2025 and 2026 from the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO) and a third-place award in 2025 from the Texas Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (TATOA).
